
Bolognese Sauce
This Old World sauce complements any pasta dish.
1 lb. ground beef
3 tbsp. chopped onion
2 tbsp. chopped carrot
2 tbsp. chopped celery
1 cup dry white wine
1/2 cup milk
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1 can (28 oz.) crushed tomatoes
Sauté ground beef, onion, carrot and celery in a nonstick frying pan over medium heat. When meat is almost cooked, add wine; stir frequently until wine has evaporated. Add milk and nutmeg; stir frequently until milk has evaporated. Add crushed tomatoes. Lower heat and let simmer for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
